I’m selling this wonderful 1997 Squier Standard Stratocaster, Crafted in Korea during the final period of South Korean Squier production.
Finished in the classic black-and-maple “Blackie” style, the guitar has been set up in Eric Clapton fashion with the tremolo blocked, effectively giving it the stability and solid feel of a hardtail bridge. The modification is completely reversible. All the original parts are included: tremolo arm, springs, rear cover plate and screws.
The maple neck is fantastic, the frets are in good condition and the guitar plays beautifully. It is in excellent cosmetic condition for a nearly thirty-year-old instrument, with only extremely light signs of use and hardly a scratch.
Unlike many earlier Korean Squiers, which often used laminated or composite bodies, this late-production 1997 model features a full-thickness solid alder body—one of the qualities that makes these final Korean-built instruments particularly desirable.
Specifications:
I’m selling it simply because it is not being used. I would particularly love to see it go to a beginner or developing guitarist who wants a genuine, well-built Stratocaster rather than a disposable beginner’s instrument.
Price: €300, slightly negotiable.
