------------------------------
Since its release in 1960, the Hummingbird has been the second most popular Gibson acoustic guitar after the J-45. This particular instrument is a 2015 used Hummingbird, a limited edition from the Custom Shop, featuring early 1960s specifications. It has a spruce top, mahogany sides and back, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, Keystone Gold Kluson-type tuners, double parallelogram fingerboard inlays, double ring rosette, crown headstock inlay, mother-of-pearl headstock logo, engraved tortoiseshell pickguard, scalloped X-bracing, and a cherry sunburst finish. The bridge is slotted. Its sound, rich in harmonics, is known as the "honey tone" and is favored by many artists. Its deep, soft low end is particularly appealing. It can be used for everything from strumming to arpeggios. In addition to its easy-to-use tone, it is also popular for its elegant coloring and hummingbird-patterned pickguard, which makes it stand out on stage. While there is some paint wear due to age and a few dents on the top and body end, there is no major damage that detracts from its overall appearance. An original hard case is included.
