Offering my 2021 Martin D-18 Modern Deluxe for sale. I traded for this with a true Martin man if there ever was one and he was the original purchaser, however this D-18 has never been registered for the warranty (lucky you!). I gigged with this guitar once with a bluegrass band that's nice enough to keep me around and I probably soloed better with this guitar than I do with my #1 that cost over twice as much. Maybe the pressure wasn't on too much that day, maybe I was having an extra good day or maybe this is just a really, really good playing guitar. Maybe all three?
I do love a good D-18 and this one is different from a D-18 standard. The tone of this guitar isn't as dry as a standard, it feels luxurious in the hands and the highs and lows have more presence. In fact it's as loud as my HD-28 and not nearly as obnoxious when you dig in. Really good setup on this guitar too. I'm selling it because I don't feel like this guitar was ever meant to be mine though I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it.
Quick rundown of features:
VTS treated sitka spruce top
Solid mahogany neck
Solid mahogany back and sides
Ebony fretboard and bridge
Liquid Metal bridge pins
Carbon fiber bridge plate
Pretty gold frets and tuners
Nice pearl headstock inlay
and the most important in my opinion- VTS treated, scalloped Adirondack spruce braces. This right here is the secret I think to the improved tone over the standard D-18
Couple of dings on the back. I tried to get the best pictures I could. Didn't even notice them until today in the natural light.
